Pardon Our Progress (POP) Update
🚧 Douglas Construction Update – June 30, 2026 🚧
Here's the latest progress on construction projects around Douglas:
• Richards Street Sidewalk Project – Traffic control is in place from Cheyenne Street to 5th Street. Sidewalk demolition continues this week, with new sidewalks, approaches, and valley pans scheduled to begin next week.
• South 4th Street – Great news! The project is substantially complete and open to traffic. Only a few final punch-list items remain and are expected to be completed over the next two weeks.
• North 3rd Street – Crews temporarily shifted to finish South 4th Street, and recent rain caused additional delays. Work is expected to resume Wednesday as the project moves toward completion.
• Downtown Utilities Project – This project is also substantially complete. Final inspections have been completed, and the remaining punch-list items are expected to be wrapped up this week.
• Richards Street Bridge Project (WYDOT) – Crews are replacing the west bridge approach. The bridge and pedestrian walkway remain closed, with traffic detoured via Yellowstone Highway and Brownfield Road. Please follow posted detours and allow extra travel time.
• Labonte Road Project – The County and contractor continue developing a long-term repair plan. Camera inspections of the underground utilities are taking place this week to identify needed repairs.
• Warranty Repairs – Repairs to several manholes on South 2nd and South 3rd Streets are scheduled to begin July 6. Please use caution around work crews and equipment.
Thank you for your continued patience as these important improvements move toward completion. Your support of local businesses and safe travel through construction zones is greatly appreciated!
