Douglas Road Construction POP Update

Update as of 5/14/26

🚧 Weekly Douglas Construction Update 🚧

South 4th Street – Crews are continuing curb, gutter, and sidewalk replacement. Base asphalt is complete, with roadway milling happening this week and final paving planned for May 22. Detours remain in place, with completion still targeted for late May/early June.

North 3rd Street – Waterline installation continues in the 400 block, and milling is complete in the 300 block. Clay Street remains gravel at the tie-in area—please use caution. Water interruptions may occur during construction. Completion expected by late August.

Downtown Utilities Project – Weather delays have slowed progress slightly. Center Street paving is planned to begin May 14, while alley concrete work is expected late this week or early next week. South 3rd remains open with a gravel surface.

⚠️ Center Street remains closed until alley concrete has cured enough for heavy sanitation vehicles.

North 2nd Street Bridge – WYDOT plans to pave the bridge deck May 13 and reopen the bridge to traffic May 14, weather permitting.

Richards Street Bridge Project – Pre-bid meeting scheduled for May 20. Some road closures near Smylie Road and the middle school drainage area are expected during construction.

Labonte Road Project – The City and County are working with the contractor to address sewer line alignment concerns identified after installation last year.

Other City Work – Manhole warranty repairs on Elm & Oak Streets are scheduled around May 22. The City is also coordinating with Visionary Communications on roadway and sidewalk repairs related to recent fiber installation work.
