Pardon Our Progress (POP) Update

🚧 Douglas Construction Update – September 23, 2026 🚧

Here’s this week’s construction update from the City of Douglas:

• Richards Street Sidewalk Project – Despite recent storms, crews continue making good progress. The first five blocks are substantially complete, and traffic control has moved farther down Richards Street. Storm drainage, roadway reconstruction, and preparation for curb, gutter, and sidewalk work continue.

• WTP Transmission Line Project – The force main connection is complete, and crews are now preparing to bore the raw water line beneath Yellowstone Highway. Riverside Park remains closed to vehicle access while construction continues.

• North 3rd Street – The roadway is open to traffic! Crews continue landscaping, irrigation repairs, and remaining project closeout work.

• Richards Street Bridge (WYDOT) – Work continues at the east abutment, with backfilling expected to begin this week. The west roadway has been milled and is being prepared for paving. The bridge has been lifted at the west abutment, rocker bearings have been reset, and worn components have been replaced.

🚫 The bridge and pedestrian walkway remain closed. Please use the posted detour via Yellowstone Highway and Brownfield Road and stay outside the construction zone until the bridge officially reopens.

• Labonte Road – Work continues on underground sewer repairs. Manhole #5 has been raised to improve pipe alignment and flow, and work at Manhole #6 has been backfilled with successful compaction testing.

⚠️ SAFETY REMINDER – GIVE CREWS ROOM TO WORK!

Construction equipment has large blind spots. Please slow down, stay alert, and give workers and equipment plenty of room when traveling through active construction areas.
