Douglas Road Construction POP Update
🚧 Weekly Douglas Construction Pardon Our Progress (POP) Update 🚧

Construction season is in full swing, and several projects continue to make progress throughout Douglas.
- Richards Street Sidewalk Project crews are mobilizing equipment and materials, with construction scheduled to begin June 8 and continue through October.
- Richards Street Bridge (WYDOT project) is scheduled to close on June 8 for repairs. The bridge and pedestrian walkway will remain closed throughout construction, with reopening anticipated by the end of October.
- South 4th Street remains pending paving operations. The roadway has reopened temporarily with a rough-milled surface. Please use caution and watch for marked manholes and construction barrels.
- North 3rd Street has passed water system testing and crews are installing service connections. Road base work is expected next, with curb and gutter installation anticipated during the week of June 15.
- Downtown Utilities Project
- Center Street is now open to traffic.
- Alley concrete work is nearly complete.
- The alley will remain closed until approximately June 9 to allow for proper curing.
- South 3rd Street utility work is complete, with paving currently scheduled for June 11-12.
- South 2nd Street utility installation has been completed. Final testing and tie-ins are underway, with paving anticipated June 8-9.
- North 2nd Street Bridge has reopened to traffic. Temporary guardrails are in place until permanent rails arrive.
- Labonte Road remains under review by Converse County, the City of Douglas, and the contractor as they work toward both short-term repairs and a long-term solution.
- In addition, City Parks & Recreation crews will continue tree trimming operations throughout town through the end of June.
